Matiash Vlog Ep.001 – Hello World.

The other week, I published my 2016 Travel Photovlogger Gift Guide and mentioned that I am pursuing a new storytelling medium. Well, I’m excited to share the first episode of my new vlog series. Vlogging is something that I’m going to invest a lot of myself into with a goal of sharing a new episode one or twice a week. My primary goal with this endeavor is to teach myself video recording and editing with a near-tied goal of sharing more of the unscripted, personal side of my life. If anything, it’s a cathartic exercise for myself but it’s also my hope that all of you take something away from it. I already received feedback from a viewer that this vlog has inspired already inspired him to give it a shot. I can think of no better result.

So, here is Ep.001. I welcome your thoughts and invite you to subscribe to my YouTube channel to get notified about future episodes and additional videos that I’ll be posting.

Hi Brian. Wishing you all the best for 2017. Regarding your Vlogs: NO FEAR. Just keep sharing all the great knowledge you’ve accumulated as a photographer. One of the things I have always enjoyed in watching other photographers is their on site shooting. Also, any examples of planned shoots that didn’t end up the way you had hoped. I’ve had that happen many times, but still get something cool when I just turn around and look at something else.
Oh, and just be yourself. It’s all good!

Constructive crit — careful with the hand gestures. Too much of them and they can be distracting, esp in a studio setting. Good luck, look forward to watching you!
