The Otherworldly White Pocket

As soon as you reach the parking/camping area at White Pocket, you know that you’re not in Kansas anymore. But it isn’t until you walk about a quarter mile in that you fully realize how bizarre this place actually is. If you were dropped in this location without warning, you’d swear that you’re standing on another planet. Getting to this area absolutely requires a 4-wheel drive vehicle and some white-knuckled driving but it is totally worth it. This is an area that I’m going to be returning to in 2015 for certain.

I took this photo with my Sony a7 and Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L II lens. Once again, the rock feet of my Really Right Stuff TVC-34L/BH-55 tripod proved to be indispensable in getting secured footing at these odd angles. Stylization was done with a custom built preset in Lightroom.

A very appropriate title for this image, i love the white clay lines leading the eye across the image. Congratulations!
