I’ve written before about the catharsis I experience whenever I immerse myself in editing photos. There is a certain harmony and peace of mind that comes with simply getting lost in crafting your own photo. As far as I’m concerned, it’s as good of an elixir as any medicine.

Today was an especially trying day for me at work, one that certainly took a lot out of me and brought a level of frustration that I can’t really recall having before. Thankfully, everything is just fine but I do count myself as fortunate for having my photos, like this sunset over the Grand Canyon, to restore some emotional and mental balance, allowing me to wake up even-keeled and on the right foot.

As for the technical details of the photo, it is a two-exposure manual blend using my Sony A7. The composite was done with Adobe Photoshop and the stylization was done in Analog Efex Pro 2, part of the Nik Collection by Google.
