I tend to get turned off at plans that focus solely around what’s at the destination. For example, as much as I want to be able to see every waterfall in the Pacific Northwest, I’m much more excited to visit the trails that offer as much along the journey as they do at the destination. It’s along the journey that I tend to find some of the more interesting things to photograph – the little things that are much easier to overlook than what’s usually the ‘big payoff’ at the end. Little cascading waterfalls and streams are found all over the place on certain trails. All it takes is slowing down the pace of the journey to see them and figure out how to best represent them to all of you. Luckily, there is no shortage of trails to visit up here and I’m going to make sure that I trek along as many as I can with camera in hand and eyes wide open.
