Once functioning

I’ve been battling a pretty gnarly flu since getting back from Australia (I wholly blame Colby, who I sat next to on the flight back from Oz). Despite it, I did end up driving up to photograph the famed Peter Iredale shipwreck in northwestern Oregon at sunset (which is at a crazy late hour this time of year!). I was joined by Nicole, Brian, Jeffrey, and Craig. We all had a great time and were even surprised to see a little bit of color make its way into the sky from the rather drab sunset. I’m paying for it with my flu today but it was totally worth the trip.

I took this image using my Sony A7r and Canon 17mm T/S lens, using the awesome Lucriot filter system by Formatt-Hitech. These are two tone-mapped panels that I stitched vertically (a vertorama) in Photoshop and then edited in Analog Efex Pro 2, part of the Nik Collection by Google.

Wow. Hauntingly beautiful. Great work on the capture to be able to edit it into this awesome picture. Do you have any basic history on the wreck? (Just wondering)

Very nice +Brian Matiash. I didn't catch that you were using the a7r — I knew you had been using the a7 for a while. I'm pretty excited to try that sensor with some Canon T/S lenses for some huge images (this must be like 50 MP).
