Over the river and through the woods

Here’s another photo that I recently finished working on from my visit to Silver Falls State Park in Oregon last week. It’s funny because it took a while before I actually found a composition that I was happy with that included all of these branches and limbs. Normally, I try to steer clear of obstructions or, at the very least, I do my best to use these natural inclusions to frame my photos. But in this case, I was really happy with the way the color of the water played off of the color of the moss. I also liked the juxtaposition of fluid motion against the more static, texturized surfaces of the trees.

I did not "get" this image the first few times I scrolled by it in my Google+ stream. You need to immerse yourself in this shot full screen, preferably on a large monitor, to really see what's here and take a walk in the woods with Brian.

It's much easier to photograph than to carry a chain saw, which I would love to have with me at times :)
    Great shot Brian!
