Eyes up on Sydney

Eyes up on Sydney

Despite only having a few short hours to explore Sydney, I was happy to get my architecture fix here. I instantly fell in love with the extreme juxtaposition of architectural styles and influences. This city really is a candyland for anyone who fancies this sort of photography. It didn’t hurt that the sky was filled with gorgeous clouds! I didn’t have my tripod with me (for shame) so long exposures were out of the question. Still, I was really happy with the results.

In terms of processing
Pretty much all of the heavy lifting with this b&w conversion was done in onOne Software Perfect B&W. Final touches were applied in Lightroom 4.3

That is spectacular, Brian!  Very moody and powerful!  Love the way you've chosen to process and the choices you made with the highlights – Especially giving importance to the round tower.  Wonderful work!

Great find. The building & sky. Black and white is a good call.

Lerrrrrrrv this +Brian Matiash!! And as much as I enjoy and admire LE architecture photography – this is like a breath of fresh air with those gorgeous clouds-with-texture. I'm happy you didn't have your tripod! Man, I love the tones.
