The other night, Nicole S. Young and I had one of the most wonderful evenings romping around Carlisle Beach in Tasmania. The beach was essentially ours for the taking. We had the great fortune of meeting up with Instagram-savant photographer, Matt Glastonbury and his cadre of friends – each of whom were positively lovely.

After enjoying a pristine sunset and a five star picnic on the beach, we waited and watched the sky. As our eyes slowly became accustomed to the darkness, that’s when it happened. The Southern Cross, one of the region’s more beautiful constellations appeared and danced along as the rest of our galaxy came into view. It really was hard to not get a beautiful shot.

Another Lightroom-only image. This time, I put one of Dave Morrow‘s wonderful Under The Stars Lightroom presets to use.
