Shortly after Cameron Siguenza left us at Bandon, OR to continue his epic trek back home to California, Matt Kloskowski and I scrambled to find places to visit as we burned the daylight until sunset. One of the places we decided on was the Coquille River Lighthouse. Despite the wind, we ended up killing a good amount of time here. I actually walked away with some images that I’m truly pumped about. This image came courtesy of my JOBY Gorillapod Focus and Ballhead X system. It made it really easy to position my camera in tight areas. In the case here, I was able to get this foreground in the frame because of how I positioned the tripod on these fallen trees. I just set up the camera with my Lee Big Stopper and went to town with the long-ish exposures (I think these were around 60-65 seconds).

In terms of processing
I stylized this image in onOne Software Perfect Effects 4. I applied the Soho and ProX vintage effects along with a custom Tone Enhancer to get this look.

Final touches were applied in Lightroom 4.3
