By the time Brian Bonham and I made it to this particular beachhead at Dalton Point, the sun was rapidly retiring. There wasn’t much luxury of time so it really boiled down to picking 2-3 compositions and really hoping to stick ’em. Within a minute or two after nabbing this shot, the color was all but gone from this particular vantage point, leaving Brian and I standing there… staring at each other.

In terms of processing
The first thing I did here was get proper tone using the Basic sliders in the Develop module of Lightroom 4.3. This helped give me a more balanced starting point to stylize my image. Next, I sent the image to onOne Software Perfect Effects 4. I applied a Blue filter and masked it out of the warm sunset area. I then masked in a bit of Golden Hour Enhancer onto the sun area and globally applied Hollywood Glow.

Final touches were then applied in Lightroom 4.3.
