Sometimes, a little elbow grease needs to be applied to create a shot. In this case, that piece of driftwood was way back up the beach. I knew it had tons of character with its serpentine undulations so I dragged it to the shore. The key here was to find a place where the waves wouldn’t disturb the wood during the long exposure. After a few failed attempts, I finally struck gold.
In terms of processing
Not much here. Some Tonal Contrast masked onto the wood and some Hollywood Glow with a Soft Light blend. All done in Perfect Effects 4 by.
Final touches were applied in Lightroom 4.3 RC.
